　　Located in Hebei Province of northern China, Qinhuangdao is a beautiful coastal city known for its nice and ice-free port, the Great Wall at Shanhaiguan Pass and the summer resort in Beidaihe. With a population of 2.7 million, Qinhuangdao lies between mountains and the sea, and enjoys a pleasant climate without cold winters or hot summers. The yearly temperatures average at 10.5 degrees Celsius.

　　Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center

　　The Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium will serve as one of the Football venues during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The stadium lies inside the Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center on the Hebei Avenue.

　　The construction was started in May 2002 and completed on July 30, 2004. Covering 168,000 square meters, the Olympic-standard stadium has a seating capacity of 33,572, 0.2% of which is reserved for the disabled persons.

　　秦皇島市奧體中心體育場(chǎng)位于河北大街上的秦皇島市奧林匹克體育中心，占地556.78畝，包括體育場(chǎng)、體育館、體校、體育賓館、超市等多功能的配套設(shè)施，預(yù)計(jì)總投資達(dá)10.85億元。作為北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)足球分賽場(chǎng)體育場(chǎng)工程，2002年5月破土動(dòng)工，主體建筑六層，擁有可滿足國(guó)際比賽的400米標(biāo)準(zhǔn)跑道的田徑場(chǎng)和足球場(chǎng)，可容納觀眾3.3萬(wàn)人。預(yù)計(jì)2004年5月可投入使用，從而成為北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)場(chǎng)館中第一個(gè)開(kāi)工、第一個(gè)竣工的項(xiàng)目。

　　體育場(chǎng)觀眾席內(nèi)圈橢圓與外圈橢圓中心線東西相距15米，以使視距質(zhì)量較好的西看臺(tái)可容納更多的觀眾�？磁_(tái)共設(shè)有3.3萬(wàn)坐席，其中有2‰的傷殘人坐席。

　　東西看臺(tái)后側(cè)還分別設(shè)有包廂。運(yùn)動(dòng)場(chǎng)內(nèi)設(shè)有36.5米半徑的400米環(huán)形跑道標(biāo)準(zhǔn)田徑場(chǎng)，跑道內(nèi)設(shè)有104m×68m的天然草皮足球場(chǎng)。

　　體育場(chǎng)看臺(tái)挑蓬屋蓋采用24根混凝土柱上立鋼柱與懸索鋼絎架組合結(jié)構(gòu)，上覆弧形膜。建筑造型力圖體現(xiàn)建筑藝術(shù)的完美和科學(xué)技術(shù)的含量。輕巧的懸索鋼絎架，強(qiáng)烈的動(dòng)感和曲線美的馬鞍型天際輪廓線，乳白色的屋蓋覆膜，使體育場(chǎng)白天在藍(lán)天的背景下，似一張白帆升起在海面上；夜晚，在泛光燈照明的陪襯下，像一個(gè)閃爍光芒的巨大扇貝靜臥在海邊，展示了海邊建筑的地方特色。
