Listen to the tape then answer this question. Can Mr. Frith buy the television on instalments? How does it work?

【課文】

MR.FRITH：I like this television very much. How much does it cost?

ASSISTANT：It's the most expensive model in the shop. It costs five hundred pounds.

MRS. FRITH：That's too expensive for us. We can't afford all that money.

ASSISTANT：This model's less expensive than that one. It's only three hundred pounds. But, of course, it's not as good as the expensive one.

MR. FRITH: I don't like the model. The other model's more expensive, but it's worth the money.

MR. FRITH: Can we buy it on instalments?

ASSISTANT：Of course. You can pay a deposit of thirty pounds, and then fourteen pounds a month for three years.

MR. FRITH：Do you like it, dear?

MRS. FRITH：I certainly do, but I don't like the price. You always want the best, but we can't afford it. Sometimes you think you're a millionaire!

MR.FRITH：Millionaires don't buy things on instalments!

【課文翻譯】

弗里斯先生：我非常喜歡這臺(tái)電視機(jī)。請(qǐng)問(wèn)它多少錢？

店 員：這是店里最貴的型號(hào)。它的售價(jià)是500英鎊。

弗里斯夫人：這對(duì)我們來(lái)說(shuō)是太貴了。我們花不起那么多錢。

店 員：這種型號(hào)的比那種要便宜些。它只要300英鎊。但是，它當(dāng)然沒(méi)有價(jià)錢高的那種好。

弗里斯先生：我不喜歡這種型號(hào)。那一種型號(hào)價(jià)格是貴一些，但它值這么多錢。

弗里斯先生：我們可以用分期付款的方式購(gòu)買嗎？

店 員：當(dāng)然可以。您可以先付30英鎊定金，然后每月14鎊，3年付清。

弗里斯先生：你喜歡嗎，親愛(ài)的？

弗里斯夫人：我當(dāng)然喜歡， 但是我不喜歡這個(gè)價(jià)錢。你總是要買最好的，可我們買不起。有時(shí)候你認(rèn)為自己是個(gè)百萬(wàn)富翁！

弗里斯先生：百萬(wàn)富翁是不會(huì)分期付款買東西的！
