2019年小學(xué)英語晨讀練習(xí)：《Bad temper》

　　There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper， he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

　　從前有個(gè)小男孩，他的脾氣很差。有一天，爸爸給了他一袋釘子，告訴他，每次發(fā)脾氣了，他就要在柵欄的里面釘上一顆釘子。

　　The first day， the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.

　　Over the next few weeks， as he learned to control his anger， the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down.

　　He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

　　第一天，小男孩在柵欄上釘了37顆釘子。

　　后面一周，他開始學(xué)會(huì)控制脾氣了，釘上去的釘子數(shù)量一天天變少了。

　　他發(fā)現(xiàn)，比起在柵欄上釘釘子，控制脾氣要容易得多。

　　Finally the day came when the boy didn‘t lose his temper at all.

　　He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

　　The days passed and the boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nailswere gone.

　　終于有一天，小男孩一次都沒有發(fā)脾氣了。

　　他告訴了他的爸爸，爸爸跟他說，如果哪天沒有發(fā)脾氣，就從柵欄上拔掉一顆釘子。

　　日子一天天過去了，男孩告訴爸爸，他終于拔掉了所有的釘子。

　　The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.

　　He said， “You have done well， my son， but look at the holes in the fence.

　　The fence will never be the same.

　　When you say things in anger， they leave a scar just like this one.

　　You can put a knife in a man and draw it out.

　　It won’t matter how many times you say I‘m sorry.

　　The wound is still there.”

　　爸爸牽著兒子的手走到柵欄邊，對兒子說：“兒子，你做得很好。

　　但是你看看柵欄上的這些洞，都是釘子留下的，柵欄永遠(yuǎn)恢復(fù)不了以前的樣子了。

　　你生氣的時(shí)候說的那些話，就會(huì)留下這樣的傷疤。

　　如果你用刀子捅了一個(gè)人，然后把刀拔出來，無論你說多少遍對不起，傷疤都不會(huì)消失了。”
